Varment Guard offers a free survey to determine if you have a
bed bug infestation. One of our pest management specialists will
complete a thorough visual inspection to identify live bed bugs
or any evidence of infestation. It will be helpful if you save a
specimen for identification. We can identify an infestation by
locating bed bug skins or fecal matter. If no visual evidence is
found we can offer canine detection services for an additional
cost.
If we confirm bed bug infestation, Varment Guard will provide
an estimate for the cost of treatment. We offer chemical or heat
treatments. (Click here for the description of heat
treatment). If the best option for treatment is chemical it
is very important for you to prepare very thoroughly before the
treatment for it to be successful. (Click here for chemical
treatment check list). On the day of the initial treatment our
technician will use a residual liquid insecticide which will be
injected in the frame wall voids, cracks and crevices,
electrical outlets and lower level plumbing penetrations.
Mattresses, box springs and upholstered furniture will be
treated. Mattress Safe mattress and box spring encasements can
be purchased from Varment Guard and installed after the liquid
treatment has dried. This is not included in cost of treatment
and you are responsible for installation unless otherwise
arranged. There will be a follow up treatment 2-3 weeks from the
initial treatment at which time all these steps will be
repeated. In cases where furniture is heavily infested we may
recommend wrapping the furniture in a plastic drop cloth and
discarding it prior to treatment.
